Good marketing by Sony

Video #1 was one of Sony’s original commercials for the PS3. It didn’t show what the PS3 was about; it didn’t let you know about its Blu-ray capabilities and it didn’t show you any video from any games. Plus, it was incredibly creepy. I cried myself to sleep the first night I saw it.

Video #2 is a recent commercial that shows several games, gives a brief glimpse of Sony’s upcoming “Home” online feature, and showcased the fact that you can play Blu-ray discs on it. It also did so stylishly (but not creepy).

With such poor marketing the first go around, no wonder they slipped behind in the market and are getting trounced.
